Overview
HMK-1601 Friability Tester is an apparatus for checking the friability of tablets.It completely complies to USP.

Tabelt friability is tested by weighing tablets first then put them into a drum with specific internal diameter and depth, rotate the drum 100 times at the fixed rate of 25 rpm, and the tablets tumble. Re-weigh the tablets and calculate the weight loss, tablets with weigh loss not more than 1% pass the test, those tablets that obviously cracked, cleaved, or broken fails the test.

HMKTablet 1601 friabilator tests resistance of uncoated tablets to the shock and abrasion happenned during manufacturing, packing, and shipping operations. During above opeatioins the uncoated tablets may be capped, chipped, abrasive or even broken. Measurement of tablet friability supplements other physical strength measurements such as tablet crushing strength.

HMKTablet 1601 tablet friability apparatus is a friability test apparatus completely complying to internatioanl standard USP, E.P. and JP.
The friability test is carried out by using a friability tester that uses a drum in USP specified internal diameter and depth of transparent synthetic polymer with polished internal surfaces. The tablets are tumbled at each turn of the drum by a curved projection in USP specified inside radius that extends from the middle of the drum to the outer wall. The drum is attached to the horizontal axis of a device that rotates at USP specified rpm. Thus, at each turn the tablets roll or slide and fall onto the drum wall or onto each other, friable tablet (>1%) does not pass the test.
